Brian,

If this error, 99, is coming from one of the UniVerse socket api calls
it's usually indicative of the number of available licenses being
exceeded.

Subject: [U2] Socket errors from .NET

Hi all,

I have an odd (but urgent) problem with UniVerse sockets.

I have a UV Basic routine that makes a socket connection to a Windows
service. The service runs with administrator privileges and runs on the
same machine as UniVerse.

When I call it from a green screen routine, it works.
When I call it from a .Net client, it works.

When another user calls it from the same .Net client it fails with
"Invalid socket error code" (99). When that same user runs it from the
green screen it works. When I connect in on my PC using her user name it
works.

A third user, on an identical PC with identical privileges, network
setup etc. calls the routine from the identical .Net client and it
works.

The .Net client runs with full trust, I've set all the zones on the PC
giving the issue to full trust (temporarily): nothing seems to stop the
error occuring.

Anyone seen anything like this?

Brian
