No bubble bursting happening here. I'm very familiar with Microsoft development products and licensing. Yes, Express Edition (formerly known as MSDE) is free, and freely redistributable. However, it is a database engine, not a development environment. While applications developed with Visual Studio are also freely redistributable, Visual Studio itself (with the exception of the limited functionality Express versions) is not free.
