The Australian Taxation Office has over 3300 users on one system and are
quite happy with performance. Which aspect of scalability concerns you? To
my mind the main issue is that the U2 databases have always been sold
underneath applications, never marketed in their own right. Now, if you ask
an IBM sales dude, you're likely to hear that DB2 is the only database
you'll ever need. O'course, the sales dude's margin/commission is way
higher on DB2 than for U2.
