Michael, With Universe on Windows, you can print to a network printer only if the network printer is installed as a printer on the Universe server connected to the Universe server by an lpr port on the Universe server.
Further, if you want to print ESC sequences to that printer to configure it, you must install it on the Universe server using the Generic/Text printer driver in the Generic manufacturer's list of printer drivers. Otherwise, the real manufacturer's driver will either print the ESC sequences as text or will not pass them thru to the printer at all. Feel free to call me off-line if this doesn't solve the problem. hth, Dave Dave Taylor President Sysmark Information Systems, Inc. 49 Aspen Way Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274 800-SYSMARK (800-797-6275) (O) 310-544-1974 (C) 310-561-5200 (P) 800-339-1497 (F) 310-377-3550 Your Source for Integrated EDI Translation and DataSync Integration www.sysmarkinfo.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Pflugfelder" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "U2 List Server" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 20, 2006 8:35 AM Subject: [U2] Windows UV & host based printers > Windows Server 2003 > Universe 10.1.11 > Printer: HP Color LaserJet 2600n > > From what I've found on HP's website and some other research on the net, > it appears that this printer uses a 'host-based printer driver' or > 'host-based printing'.
