This solution sounded the most promising, until I got into the printer's setup and found nothing about buffer. It's an HP 4200TN. It's a used/rebuilt printer and came with a Jetdirect card (the 'N' in the model). I have another Jetdirect card I might put in, but hesitate to do that if there's no point, thus my appeal to this group.
