Hi Guido >I don't know UniVerse well (only been using it for a couple of weeks) >but from what I see so far, UniVerse is not fully SQL compliant and >AFAIK, portions of the SQL that is generated comes from user code >(e.g. conditions specified using the LIKE clause) expect the >underlying SQL dialect to be somewhat standard.
> UniVerse SOAP functionality requires writing a new stored >procedure in BASIC. So I can't take that route. Universe is SQL92 Compliant and you can have 2 Query options, SQL or Retrieve. The upcoming SOAP functionality enables you to call an SQL Statement, a Retrieve Statement or a Basic program. Do not be reluctant to use the stored procedures. It is fairly easy to learn and very powerful compared to facilities in other products Regards David Jordan Managing Consultant ------- u2-users mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe please visit http://listserver.u2ug.org/
