I believe my MVExec freeware will help you to do what you ask: http:// removethisNebula-RnD.com/freeware/ It uses mv.NET to connect to any MV back-end and execute any commands from remote clients, even on the internet where it may be a security issue to expose an ODBC server. In this case you'd pass the SQL query to the server, execute it, and return the output to the client. I haven't used ODBC with Unidata and don't know if we can use SQL Select queries in Unidata from the command prompt, but you can just as easily have a BASIC program shell out on the server hosting Unidata and execute commands against the ODBC server from there. I hope that's clear. MVExec at least removes the issue of how to get commands executed from remote clients. <ad> If you already have mv.NET, use MVExec freely with my compliements and I will be happy to make fixes and consider enhancements. If you do not have mv.NET, Nebula R&D can provide it. A single run-time session license is very inexpensive and supports many users. <http:// removethisNebula-RnD.com /blog/tech/2006/05/how-many-licenses-do-i-need.html> </ad> (Sorry for the long URL, I'm going to modify my blog with shorter permalinks soon.)
