I can't help with Tandem and I've tagged this reply with an AD: to
keep on the straight and narrow ;-)  But a lot of the customers for our
PEEK software are on Unidata, others on Universe, others on a zillion
other applications or databases.

With PEEK, when you enter "poke mode", every keystroke is passed
through.  There's nothing that gets stripped or changed (with the
possible exception of <ctrl-S> in some cases).  This may not help you
as this involves some $.  But I thought I'd mention it since it works
at a low level and therefore is not app or databse dependent.  Details are
