Really? It's redimensioning in common here on UV10, aix, PICK flavour, no question about it. Exactly for the purpose of a file open subroutine used in hundreds of programs with hundreds of users... No complaints. I have even just written a test program which redims a vector in common and works. Although it seems logical not to be able to change a dimension in common, if common variables are just pointers to a memory slot then extending an array probably just means pointing to some non-sequential memory for the new dimensions (just a guess). Maybe there is some other flavour/uvconfig flag which affects this?
