If we're just talking about a backup, savevg would be an option only
if there's an LVM in there somewhere.  Regardless, I don't know that
such a thing works to get information into Cache.

what version of UniVerse does supply savevg ?
I am using 10.x.x on linux, and there is no savevg there!
intersystems state clearly that you have to use uvbackup on a UniVerse
system!
