Yup

That's how PowerTerm does it except we have 2 servers on which the java app 
runs, if we loose one we simply switch so the users aren't left twidddling 
whatever it is that users twiddle when they can't do any work :-)

In general, yes.  I can't comment about PowerTerm, but we run other apps which 
have a native PC client and then an equivalent web app which only requires a 
web brower and java plugin - no client software to install or maintain on the 
PC.
