Also the problem I described is inconsistent. For example. If I open a new telnet session to Universe and do simple Retrieve statement to output XML, the first attempt may give me the right result. However, if do a ".X" at TCL prompt to execute the same Retrieve statement, I will usually get extra characters in the XML output. This not a show stopper for me at this time since I can produce good XML output without any problem by using SQL SELECT instead of Retrieve.
