I think the comments today raise two Better and Better issues. 1. The ability to call Java classes from UniVerse directly would be a positive step in further opening the product and allowing developers to extend the built in functionality. jBASE already supports this through their CallJ functionality.
At the moment we're stuck with C/C++ and Fortran through GCI, none of which are particularly platform friendly. And who uses Fortran anyway? 2. The whole issue of security - setting permissions, authentication policies, secure communications (SSL or SSH) and the new data encryption just to start with - really deserves a quality manual of its own. UniVerse has the features, but they're scattered and badly documented. And security is becoming an increasing concern especially given the march of legislation and the need to demonstrate (as much as to implement) compliance.
