A tuple is a row of associated multivalued data.  Could your dataset be
missing some data?

Did your VAR replace the MODIFY command with their own?  Check the VOC to
see if it is a Verb.

Was there a numeric error code with this message?

The message itself typically means that the record you're trying to
update has fewer fields than the update specification specifies.
Check this particular record, see whether it lacks some of the fields it
ought to have.
