Hi Andy, I'm in the same issue, trying to implement SOA in my workplace, there's a lot of things to do , specially what reffers to break-down everything in services/processes that can be more complex than the actual technological solution implementation.
For helping you in your search of an ESB here's a link of a good comparison of 8 ESB Suites ( Sonic Sw included) , it's up to you to decide based on your needs, however, there could be other things to keep in mind ,like in my case, support , that's why we choose IBM Msg Broker ( The other companies have null or very low presence in Peru) http://www.tectrends.com/cgi/showan?an=00159509 (The name of the article is Making for the ESB, and there's a full Comparison PDF) In my case,we developed a home-made adapter in Java using UniObjects API for Java ( there's one version for VB) , I think there are also one or 2 adapters in the market like Xlr8, you should check it All the effort took like 2-3 months , and now we have an adapter that uses Pooling Connection to Unidata and exposes Files or SubRutines as Services through our ESB. There's always some one thing or two to configurate in both platforms but it works fine. Let me know your researching/implementation progress. Does anybody out there have any particular recommendations for implementing a service bus layer with Unidata? Recently, I've discovered a product Sonic ESB by Sonic Software (http://www.sonicsoftware.com/products/sonic_esb/index.ssp). Has anybody had any experience or know anything about this software and how it might interact with the U2 platform? Thanks in advance for any advice, Andy P ouisville, KY ------- u2-users mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe please visit http://listserver.u2ug.org/ ____________________________________________________________________________________ Don't pick lemons.
