I'm sure you're probably aware but if you're trying to run a program
(touch) in your currently active directory, you probably have to add the
current directory shortcut in front of the command "./touch" instead of
just "touch" but that's just a guess.  J

        What exactly are you trying to monitor?  That the machine is
