I'm definitely not an expert, but ...

COPY DTALPTRSET '4.2.6.4*KYOCERA','4.2.6.3*KYOCERA'
'4.2.6.4*PCL5','4.2.6.3*PCL5' (D

Will copy 4.2.6.4*KYOCERA to 4.2.6.3*KYOCERA then delete 4.2.6.4*KYOCERA
and then copy 4.2.6.4*PCL5 to 4.2.6.3*PCL5 and delete 4.2.6.4*PCL5

Or

CNAME DTALPTRSET '4.2.6.4*KYOCERA','4.2.6.3*KYOCERA'
'4.2.6.4*PCL5','4.2.6.3*PCL5'

Will change the name of (rename) the record ID 4.2.6.4*KYOCERA to
4.2.6.3*KYOCERA and 4.2.6.4*PCL5 to 4.2.6.3*PCL5

You need to separate the original ID and the new ID with a comma if you
are copying to the same file.

Also, surround the Ids with quotes to force a literal name. If the ID is
just letters or numbers, you usually do not need the quotes. But when
using certain characters (and the asterisk is one of them), you need
them or UniData balks.

Have I missed some kind of configuration here or does UniData do this on
purpose?

As always, thanks.
