Thanks, Brian Original Post: I am the new SA for a Unidata implementation running on HPUX. Though I am not a Unidata person, I do know trying to back up any database by backing up the underlying filesystem is going to be disastrous when trying to restore it. I have looked through the Administering Unidata on UNIX and gleamed out that one is to used the dbpause and dbresume commands. I was wondering what real people/shops do to back up their environment? Where does one start when one wants to do the "right" thing? Thanks for any help and advice regarding this matter
