We converted to UniVerse 10.1.16 hosted on a Blade and SAN environment a year ago. All our applications are sharing the same SAN. This includes a 6 Blade Oracle RAC cluster, SQLServer databases, various Windows based application servers and our UniVerse production and development servers. As much as possible is running on Linux with Windows 2003 where necessary.
Generally performance is very good during the day. However what we are seeing is the effect of other applications outside normal working hours. The particularly bad issue is the effect of backups. If these are running at the same time as our batch processing the times are significantly extended. We are still fine tuning. On the plus side it is much easier to get some additional disk when it is all coming from the same pool rather being isolated on separate hardware.
