A quick way is to create a temporary hashed file large enough to hold all of the records. Next copy the records from the damaged file to the new file. The records with a bad ID will not copy. Then clear the original file or delete it and recreate it if you feel better about it. Lastly copy the records back from the temporary file. Jerry
