Have you looked at OpenInsight from Revelation Software. The same people that have done Advanced Revelation for years. They now have a product that will allow the OpenInsight development platform to interface with the U2 database. This is jointly marketed by Revelation and IBM/U2. This allows you to keep the green screens where you want them, but do the new development in a true GUI environment. The report writing abilities are outstanding and from my experience the response time is more that acceptable. You should look into it.
This allows you to keep the same data base, the same subroutines and a lot of the same programs and fix up the new ones. I have put the AD in the subject because I know this sounds like and ad. I am not a re-seller for OpenInsight although I have done some development work in the development environment and the U2 interface tool.
