Boy, that would be a problem. Nearly all of my 150 system-wide printers are on Jet-direct boxes.

I'm not sure if it affects Unidata, but on uniVerse, the HP drivers, specifically JetDirect drivers, caused one system I migrated to an MS Windows server to just plain shut down now and then, with no apparent reason. Once the Jet Direct drivers were removed, the system stayed up just fine.
