>>Check to see what is in @2 and @8 individually.
Kathleen,
I made an attribute that only went to the concatenation. A partial
listing
0622630001 304 405
0624170002 610 205
0625710003 603603
0627250004 702702
shows that it is not in fact working. It was doing what I would expected.
I just wanted to make sure before I rewrote it. Thanks.

Many of the attributes in our ERP system were written in the 80s. I
thought I had a handle on the older syntax, but I have come across
something that I don't understand. Below is a broken out version of a
dictionary attribute.
@1: @ID; * WIP Batch Number
@2: F20; * WORKCENTER
@3: F10; * PART
@4: "*"; * asterisk
@5: SUBR('-CATS', @3, REUSE(@4)); *
PART*
@6: F30; * SEQUENCE
@7: SUBR('-CATS', @5, @6); *
PART*SEQUENCE (Key to the ROUTING-DETAIL file)
@8: SUBR('-OCONVS', @7, "TROUTING-DETAIL*MA;X;4;4"); * F4 is
Work Center
@9: SUBR('-CATS', @2, @8); *
??????
@10: SUBR('-OCONVS', @9, "TWORK-CENTER-MASTER*MA;X;2;2") * F2 is
Department
I think I follow everything up to @9. Concatenate work center to work
center?
It returns what seem to be valid department numbers. The key to the
WORK-CENTER-MASTER is a single work center number. How is this working?
