I am pretty sure the code for STEAL.FILE is in the newsgroup archives
somewhere. I have written it and I am sure others have as well - at least ONE
of those should have survived. Many years ago (VMARK days) I donated a copy to
the UV User group (showing my youth) - not sure where it went from there. Also
donated to Reality at the time (tho' it was a PQN PROC on McD transferring BMS
not physically moving a file).
You can steal a file from a remote account and add it to your local account or
vice-versa, optionally renaming in the process,
Anyone have a copy or a link?
Syntax similar to the below ( by my recollection:)
:
STEAL.FILE accountname | vocpath filename { TO: newfilename }
STEAL.FILE filename TO: accountname | vocpath { newfilename }
Hope it helps

Subject: [U2] Create file on remote account
I know this has been addressed before, but I can't find the references.
We need to create files in account(directories) other than where we are
running our programs. This is an automated process so it needs to run on
the command line.
We are running UniVerse 10.2.7 in a Suse environment "SUSE Linux Enterprise
Server 10 SP2 (x86_64) - Kernel 2.6.16.60-0.27-default (15).
Thanks
Tom
