Another problem I encountered with locks in a previous program, while still on Prime Information, was the following....
READU DATA FROM FILE,ID ELSE ERROR STUFF STUFF IF CONDITION THEN WRITE DATA ON FILE,ID ELSE RELEASE FILE,ID The problem was the RELEASE would never be executed because the WRITE command had an ELSE clause of it's own, and Prime did not see the ELSE as part of the IF, but rather as part of the WRITE. READU DATA FROM FILE,ID ELSE ERROR STUFF STUFF IF CONDITION THEN WRITE DATA ON FILE,ID END ELSE RELEASE FILE,ID END was my workaround...took a while to figure that one out.
