John: As an administrator, no. I get the defined permissions... Administrators Developers UniData I also get the same permissions when I create a file as a developer. It seems the BASIC verb is causing problems and messing with permissions. When I compile a program the compiled code has its permissions messed up (copied from E:\IBM\ud71) overwriting the defined permissions (with inheritance) of the program file. I'm getting a nasty feeling about this. :-( Bill ______________________________________________________________________
