Hi Norman

[AD] line for the confused :)

I have a product called mvScan that may go some way towards what you need. This
iterates through a UniVerse system building maps of the file relations (parsing
TRANS, XLATE, SUBR, Tcorrelatives etc) and analyzing source and object code
(file opens, reads, writes, executes, subroutine calls, common blocks, include
files, variables and constants used etc.), PROCs, Paragraphs, menus and other
definitions. It's highly extensible so you can adapt it to the conventions of
your applications, e.g. pulling documentation out of standard program headers
and the like.

THe result is a huge store of information written away: not graphical but for
searching and analysis (you could probably export it to Visio, I just haven't
needed to do so - generally the systems are too large to make a graphical view
meaningful). More relevant to your aims, it can also generate HTML
documentation that can drill through the application.

Contact me offlist if you're interested.

I'd like to know if there are any applications out there that could
help me get a good graphical view of my data in UV. I have inherated a
UV system that spans 25+ years of service with our company. I have had
only 6 months of catchup to get up to speed on UV and how we use it.

My primary goal is to document as much about the system as possible
and try to get a good idea of "current state" so that I can then begin
to plan out our "future" state.

Many thanks,

Norm
