I've used the tools from <http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/default.aspx> (before they were assimilated by MS) to find a problem with UD not starting due to some memory being held by the Windows Management Instrumentation service. If UD started prior it was OK but it wouldn't start after.
