You can certainly launch VOC commands, which can call Basic code...is that what 
you want?

Building your own .cmd file (such as test.cmd - may work as a .bat, too), we 
shell out to Universe, from DOS, using the UV.exe located in: 
drive:\IBM\UV\bin.  We actually call these .cmd DOS scripts from MS Scheduler 
to run Universe processes automatically (in the middle of the night).

Our test.cmd file might look like:

D:
cd \dir1\universedirectory
D:\IBM\UV\bin\uv "VocCommand"
