Jason, I had a similar problem (with InterCall open_session) -- took 5
seconds to connect. It was solved by adding an entry to the "hosts"
file. Apparently an internal call was attempting to resolve the
ip-address to a name, even though I was supplying the actual ip-address
already. The call would time out after 5 seconds, then the process
would connect.
That would be c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
