After using LVM for 15 years, I'd never want to admin a system without it. It would be like going back in time. I can add/remove space, add/remove spindles, move which spindles an LVM is on. And the capabilities keep getting better. Add to that snapshots and what they do for backups... All without the users ever even knowing I'm changing anything, much less a downtime.
