Consider the flame war started. <grin> I guess each of us has different perspectives on this "self-promotion / advertising" thing. The purists seem to regard such behavior as beyond the pale in a 'purely technical forum' (Ha!) I have no problem with ANYONE posting to this forum on behalf of their product as long as they have something to contribute to the discussion. The more the merrier. I even welcome the 'Off Topic' discussions. They are frequently relevant to my sphere of interest. If "we" (as a group) continue to say we want "those sort of people to please use the tradesman's entrance" we will not have many people using the front door. Let's get real. This pool is not so big that we can start making it smaller without risking it drying up altogether. I just wish there was so much traffic on this site that I had a hard time filtering out the noise from the good stuff.
