We settled on using Adobe's ColdFusion for this task. There is a little learning curve to come up to speed on CFML or the new CF scripting language. The new ORM in CF is staggering.

I assume ODBC would be the way to go, with middleware from someone. Which middleware do people recommend ? Is there any which doesn't require UniVerse to be stopped to install ?
