Stuart:

I'm not even able to get a server connection to use the product. I just asked Rocket for advice on the issue, but I suspect the usual problem; too much technology that doesn't work for too many people (client environments). :-) I could never get the U2Logic BASIC editor to work properly either, and they spent a fair amount of time trying to help.

I guess your problems illustrate the issues with client software; it mostly works (so you always get comments like "it works fine for me" from help sites) but doesn't always! Your issues seem to stem from the newness of the product. I've had the same kinds of problems with other MV development environments. Why don't you contact U2 support. They're really pretty responsive and tenacious about tracking down problems and fixing them.

If Rocket is able to help with me I'll post the results and I hope you will too, because any of us using this product would never expect the results you're getting, no matter what our client configuration is.

Hi,

I've been scratching my head on an issue (not comfortable), and I'm wondering
if anyone has found the same with the Rocket U2 Basic Developer Toolkit
Dictionary Editor. (Currently trying BDT 1.2.2 but same behaviour exhibited
with an earlier version):

1. When you open a dictionary, only the D,I, X& PH items appear in the
grid. (A, S and anything else you may have in there do not appear)
2. When you save the dictionary, anything not displayed in the grid, eg
all non D, I, X, PH items, are deleted.
3. When you save the dictionary, SQL data type (fld 8) is removed from the
remaining D& I types.

I have tried it against 2 different server versions and flavours of UV
(10.2.4/aix, 10.3/fedora) from 2 different clients (XP, 2008) with consistently
repeatable results. However, our VAR cannot reproduce the issue. Unless it's
something to do with our UVCONFIG or some other environmental which is causing
this issue, I can't think of anything.

I'm just wondering if anyone else can reproduce it or if someone knows if
there's some configuration setting or something someone knows about which may
have caused this behaviour.

Cheers,
Stuart
