Thanks Gregor I will look into the SQL interface and see what I can glean. I did look at the submit request stuff and had a working proof of concept between my workstation and our dev AIX host but the destination UV system is an earlier release and didn't support a lot of that stuff. So we had to find a middle of the road solution and sockets was it. For the moment at least until they upgrade. :)

These will allow basic programs running as phantoms to establish their own connection to the remote site and run subroutines supplied with data as parameters.
