be EXTREMELY careful if you upgrade to version 5.x of sbclient. The software does work much better than 4.x but the upgrade routine has one major hangup. If you upgrade to version 5 and keep the same serial number, when you launch one version5 client the licence details will ripple around the network to all your version 4 clients (as version4 clients also do.). However the licence details in 5 are not compatible with the licence details in 4 and ALL your version4 clients will complain that the licence details are invalid and stop working. A great DOS on your network and not nice to find out at 4.30pm when you are already late getting out of a client site! The workaround is to get a NEW serial number for version 5. If you've already hit the problem then get a new version 5 number and on the version 4 clients delete the hklm\software\unidata\sbclient tree from regedit, and then relicence with the original number. We found that this involved a visit and relicence of ALL version4 machines :-( Andy
