Talk with your sales rep, especially if you are considering using the x-series as the
hardware platform (we use a lot of these, and are very please with them); he may cut
you a favorable deal.

The license agreement says "Unix". The platform migration fee is ~$10k. I suspect that their lawyer would say that while Linux may be a flavor of Unix, we would still be on the hook to pay the migration fee.
Maybe if you were proposing to run your Linux on an _IBM _
xSeries (Intel) box they might be less interested in talking about migration fees, or at all to their lawyers?
And they're quite nice boxes, and reasonably competitively priced, mostly.
