The issue I have had to deal with, which may be common to this
discussion is where we use fiscal year 0203 for 2002/2003.
If you do A = 0203, then sometimes but not always it becomes 203. where
a = "0203" it remains 0203.
If you want to add a year to make 0203 to 0304 requires something like
this
A = 0203
B = ((10000+A)[2,2])+101)[2,2]):(10000+A)[2,2])
(This also takes Y2K into account that is why it looks more complex than
it should)
