Greetings all,

A few weeks ago I posted a query about the use of Bayesian Nets in
embedded computing devices. What follows is a short summary of what
I learned as a result of that query. I am being brief, as Fabio
Cozman's note of Aug 24 to the list seems to serve quite well as a
summary.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Adnan Darwiche has a number of relevant papers:

[on embedding probabilistic inference]

Darwiche and Provan, "Query DAGS: A practical paradigm for
implementing belief network inference" (in JAIR 6)

[on embedding logical inference]

Darwiche, "Compiling Devices: a Structure-Based approach"

Darwiche, "Compiling Knowledge into Decomposable Negation Normal Form"

All three are available from: http://bayes.cs.ucla.edu/darwiche
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fabio Cozman is developing a Bayes Net engine in Java for embedded
devices. More details can be found at:

Thanks to all who responded!

Ted
