The Cognitive Systems Laboratory at UCLA is inviting applications
from post-doctoral researchers to work on a multi-disciplinary
project in the area of decision making under uncertainty.

The project seeks to develop formal techniques for reasoning
under uncertainty and to integrate them into a decision-aid that
complements human decision making in complex situations. Among
the major research topics supported by the project are: inference
algorithms for (dynamic) Bayesian networks, elicitation and
interpretation of causal relationships, generation of causal
explanations, and the coherent integration of information
from multiple, non-homogeneous sources.

General information and technical reports describing research
currently pursued in the Cognitive Systems Laboratory can be
found at:

    http://www.cs.ucla.edu/~darwiche
    http://bayes.cs.ucla.edu/jp_home.html

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related
field. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year,
with the possibility of multi-year renewal. The annual salary
is approximately $40-46K, depending on experience.

Interested researchers need to submit a curriculum vitae,
including an extended statement of research objectives,
to professor Adnan Darwiche or professor Judea Pearl at:

         Cognitive Systems Laboratory
         Computer Science Department
         University of California
         Los Angeles, Ca 90095
