                      Call for Papers

The Thirteenth Annual Symposium on Combinatorial Pattern Matching
(CPM2002) will be held at Hotel Uminonakamichi, Fukuoka, Japan,
July 3-5, 2002.

Papers in all areas related to combinatorial pattern matching and
its applications will be considered, including, but not limited to :

 string algorithms
 pattern recognition
 applications in molecular biology
 text searching
 information retrieval
 data mining
 symbolic computing
 natural language processing
 coding and data compression
 string processing in database

Both papers reporting on original research unpublished elsewhere
and surveys of important results are welcome.

Proceedings will be published in the Springer-Verlag series,

- -------------------------------------------------------------------
Abstract Format:

Authors should submit an extended abstract (not a full paper).
An abstract should start with the title of the paper, each author's
name, affiliation, and e-mail address, followed by a one-paragraph
summary of the results to be presented. This should then be followed
by a technical exposition of the main ideas and techniques used to
achieve these results, including motivation and a clear comparison
with related work. The abstract should not exceed 10 single-spaced
pages on A4 (or US letter) paper, using reasonable margins and at
least 11-point font. If the authors believe that more details are
essential to substantiate the main claims of the paper, they may
include a clearly marked appendix that will be read at the discretion
of the program committee.

Abstracts deviating significantly from these guidelines risk rejection
without consideration of their merits.

Please use the LaTeX style file supplied by Springer Verlag for
Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Accepted papers will have to be
camera-ready in this format for the final version.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Submission:

Authors who are going to submit a paper to CPM2002 should go to
the page below.
