Gordon, To my best knowledge, there is no single textbook/article/dissertation that covers dynamic Bayesian networks comprehensively. The most comprehensive sources that you can get today are PhD dissertations such as the ones of Constantin Aliferis ([EMAIL PROTECTED] edu), Scott Davies (http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~scottd/thesis.ps.gz) and Kevin Murphy (http://www.ai.mit.edu/~murphyk/Thesis/thesis.html) that were published recently . My dissertation will soon be available as well. None of these works however attempts to cover the issue comprehensively. Constantin's work is mainly on better representations of dynamic Bayesian networks; Scott's and Kevin's works are on estimation of (strictly stationary) parameters in dynamic Bayesian networks whose structures are Markovian and are provided by domain experts. My PhD work is on learning structures of multinomial dynamic Bayesian networks from data. If your interest lies on parameter estimation then I would also suggest you to look into articles on recent UAI conferences. I hope these help. mehmet kayaalp -- http://www.cbmi.upmc.edu/~kayaalp
