The Computer Vision and Robotics Laboratory (CVRL) (http://www.ecse.rpi.edu/~cvrl) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is seeking a post-doctoral associate/visiting scholar, who has significant knowledge and experience with Bayesian networks. We are interested in applying Bayesian networks, especially the dynamic Bayesian networks to situation assessment, information fusion, HCI, bioinformatics, and high level image understanding/interpretation. Candidates with prior experience in applying Bayesian network to one or more of these areas are especially welcome. The project will start early next year and will last for three years. A minimum of one year commitment from the candidate is required.
A vita, names of three references, and a brief statement of research should be sent to: Dr. Qiang Ji at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), the oldest and a renown technological university in the U.S., is located in historic Troy NY (home of Uncle Sam), in the Hudson River Valley, approximately 5 miles N of Albany, NY. It is 3-hrs south of Montreal, 2.5-hrs west of Boston, and 2-hrs north of New York City, to which Amtrak runs on high-speed track that should soon shorten the trip even further. The Albany area is notable for many things, including its affordable housing, cultural events (e.g., the famed Saratoga Performing Arts Center), and proximity to outdoor recreation (e.g., hiking/skiing in the Adirondack, White, Green, and Berkshire Mountains).
