POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Probabilistic methods
Applications are solicited for a postdoctoral research
associate position in Daphne Koller's research group at
Stanford University, starting fall 2003. The topics of
interest are:
* Probabilistic graphical models (e.g., Bayesian networks)
* Statistical learning
* Decision making under uncertainty
* Reinforcement learning
* Bioinformatics
The group generally consists of 7-8 PhD students, a postdoc,
and several masters students and undergraduates. In addition,
Stanford offers a lively and exciting environment, with
outstanding students and leading researchers in a variety of
areas and departments.
The postdoc will be expected to conduct theoretical and
applied research in one or more of these areas, to assist with
management of research funding, and to interact with the
group on projects in other areas.
Applicants must have
* a strong background in probabilistic methods, ideally in
one or more of the areas above;
* a solid publication record in international conferences
and/or journals.
