                         Call for Papers
IJCAI-2003 Workshop on Reasoning with Uncertainty in Robotics
              Acapulco, Mexico -- August 9, 2003
========================================================================

As mobile robots are going to be used for increasingly complex tasks and
environments, they are faced with the problem of how to deal with the
increasing amount of uncertainty that affects the available knowledge.
Dealing with uncertainty also constitutes the focus of a large research
effort in AI, which has led to a large number of new theories and new
techniques.

The IJCAI-2003 RUR workshop (Reasoning with Uncertainty in Robotics) is
the 4th in a series of workshops aimed at bringing together researchers
from robotics and from AI. The RUR workshops provide an international
forum to present and discuss new approaches to dealing with uncertainty
in robotic navigation. RUR-2003 will welcome new ideas on different
ways to deal with uncertainty in robotic applications, e.g., using
probability theory, evidence theory, fuzzy sets, or qualitative
representations.

We solicit submissions of full papers reporting novel research results
and of short interest statements.

Important dates:

  March 3, 2003 -- Submissions due
  March 31, 2003 -- Notification of acceptance
May 23, 2003 -- Camera ready version due
  August 9, 2003 -- Workshop
