Sr.Software Engineer (Santa Monica, CA - Launch division)

LAUNCH, the music destination on Yahoo!, is looking for a talented,
enthusiastic developer with solid technical skills and a passion for
building great personalized products for music lovers. You will help
to define, architect, build, test, operate, and refine the
personalization and recommendation systems for our products. Expertise
in personalization and recommender systems concepts and technologies
(e.g., clustering algorithms, K-nn, ROCK, Bayesian, item-based, etc.),
explicit and implicit user ratings, and large datasets are
crucial. Must be proficient in OOD/OOP, Java, and XML/XSLT. Experience
with architecting and operating real world, large scale systems and
internationalization & localization highly desired. C++, C#,
ASP/ASP.net, Unix, PERL, and Apache experience are plusses. Strong
process orientation, along with excellent teamwork, communication, and
problem-solving skills are a must. 5+ years of related work
experience, and a MS or equivalent required.

Sr. Software Engineer - MyYahoo! (Sunnyvale, CA)

Join the ground-breaking My Yahoo! team! We're looking for an
experienced developer to build personalization infrastructure that
extends across the Yahoo! network. This position requires a fast
learner with a good mind for problem solving and ability to work well
with other groups. A solid foundation in OO design and 5+ years
experience with UNIX, C++, C, is a must. Demonstrated record of
developing distributed server architecture and 3rd party / back-end
interfaces is required. Familiarity with recommendation, collaborative
filtering, or other related technologies is also required. Experience
with Apache, HTTP, Perl, and PHP would be highly valued. A BS/MS in
Computer Science, or equivalent, is required for this position.

Data Mining Engineer (Sunnyvale, CA)

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Data Mining
engineer to work on developing software systems that help unveil the
value of Yahoo's tremendous amount of data (> trillion
bytes). Qualified candidates should be proficient in C/C++
programming, and have good data mining knowledge, such as statistics,
predictive modeling, data clustering, collaborative filtering, text
data mining, etc. The candidate should be a good thinker, and like to
implement his/her own ideas. A PhD degree in computer
science/engineering or related areas is required. Experience in SAS
programming is a plus.
