My Dear Colleagues,

This is my semiannual solicitation for papers for "Law, Probability
and Risk: a journal of reasoning under uncertainty." This is an Oxford
journal.

The mission of the journal and other particulars are given at
http://www3.oup.co.uk/lawprj/. If you are from North or South America,
please submit your paper to me - unless (i) your paper is of a largely
statistical sort, in which case you should submit your paper to Colin
Aitken; (ii) your paper deals with epidemiology or risk analysis, in
which case you should probably submit your paper to Franco Taroni; or
(iii) your paper tilts heavily toward mathematical analysis or
mathematical argument, in which case you should probably submit your
paper to James Franklin, who is now the editor for Australia, New
Zealand, and, roughly speaking, Asia. If you are from the U.K., you
might consider submitting your paper to Mike Redmayne. (You might well
wonder: what is left over for Tillers? It's a fair question. My
answer: the structure or logic of factual inference, including the
structure of dynamic factual inference.)

Several interesting issues of the journal are in the works and will
appear shortly. If your library does not have a subscription to LPR,
well, then, your librarian should probably get busy and remedy this
failing!

Best wishes,
