SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
=======================

Contributed papers and invited session proposals are solicited.
Contributed papers and papers for invited sessions must comply with the
IFAC conference format (http://www.elsevier.com/locate/ifac) and should
not exceed 6 two-column pages. Prospective authors are invited to submit
full papers in PDF format through the symposium website
http://iav04.isr.ist.utl.pt For instructions on how to submit a proposal
for an invited session, see the symposium web site.

At least one of the authors of an accepted paper must register for the
symposium. Accepted papers will appear in the conference Preprints (in
CD-ROM format) distributed during the meeting. Papers duly presented will
be archived and offered for sale in the form of Proceedings volumes by
Elsevier Science, Oxford, England.

IFAC PUBLICATION AND COPYRIGHT POLICY:

original, not published or being considered elsewhere. All papers
accepted for presentation will appear in the Preprints of the meeting
which will be distributed to all registered participants. Papers duly
presented will be archived and offered for sale in the form of
Proceedings volumes by Elsevier Science, Oxford, England. The presented
papers will be further screened for possible publication in the IFAC
Journals Automatica and Control Engineering Practice, or in IFAC
affiliated journals. All paper presented will be recorded in Control
Engineering Practice.

Copyright of material presented at an IFAC meeting is held by IFAC.
Authors will be sent a copyright transfer form. Automatica, Control
Engineering Practice and, after these, IFAC affiliated journals have
priority access to all presented contributions. However, if the author
is not contacted by an editor of these journals within three months
after the meeting, he/she is free to re-submit the material for
publication elsewhere. In this case, the paper must carry a reference to

VENUE AND RELATED EVENTS:
=========================

The IAV2004 will be held at the Congress Center of Instituto Superior
Tcnico (IST), the School of Engineering of the Technical University of
Lisbon, Portugal. IST is located in a central area of Lisbon, is well
served by public transports and is close to the airport.

IAV2004 is coordinated with RoboCup2004 that will take place in Lisbon
from 27 June - 5 July 2004. The RoboCup includes the RoboCup Symposium
that is scheduled for 4-5 July 2004. Plenary lectures will be shared by
both events on 5 July.

The IFAC Conference on Control Applications in Marine Systems (CAMS
2004) will take place in Ancona, Italy, from 7 to 9 July 2004. Should there
exist common participants, the IAV2004 IPC will try to shape the Final
Program so that their presentations are scheduled on the
first two days of the IAV2004 Symposium.

Portugal will host the 2004 UEFA European Championship, EURO 2004 from
