Registrations are now open for MLSS'06.

Since 2002, the Machine Learning Summer Schools have given an
opportunity for leaders in the field of ML to lecture to the best
students in ML.

The first 2006 school will cover a broad range of subjects from
statistical learning theory, to state of the art applications. There
will be a particular focus on Kernel methods and Reinforcement
Learning.

Dates:
     Monday 6 February to Friday 17 February 2006 (2 weeks)

Details:
--------

The Machine Learning Summer School is a series of master classes in
Machine Learning conducted by experts in the field. There are 8 key
speakers who present for up to 6 hours, plus sundry other
speakers. Over two weeks the lectures go from the foundations of
statistical learning theory up to state of the art applications such
as brain/computer interfaces and information retrieval.

The target audience is anyone starting out in the field of Machine
Learning. This includes
o post-graduates and post-docs in Machine Learning or statistics;
o researchers entering the field for the first time;
o industry researchers.

This year we have a particularly diverse set of topics including
o learning theory,
o kernel methods,
o nonparametric methods,
o reinforcement learning,
o planning and learning;

and a number of application areas including
o information retrieval,
o image processing,
o brain/computer interfaces.

A limited number of $800AUD travel support scholarships and
registration fee waivers will be available for students.
