Call for Papers
SPECIAL SESSION ON WEB INTELLIGENCE
Deadline: December 15
Organized in the scope of:
7th International FLINS Conference on Applied Artificial Intelligence
Genova, Italy, August 29-31, 2006
<http://allserv.ugent.be/~ccorneli/flins/flins.html>
** Themes and Goals **
In our current age of booming internet technology and resources, Web
Intelligence (WI) addresses the challenge of transforming the Web from
a static data and information repository into an interactive, dynamic,
transparent and secure knowledge and service network. Specifically, WI
is aimed at enhancing available web tools with artificial intelligence
techniques, enabling them to flexibly index, search and mine vast amounts
of semi- or even unstructured web data without the direct need for
human intervention. Also, WI provides methods and tools for flexibly
extracting and maintaining ontology-based description metadata formats,
as well as trust and reputation assertions.
** Topics of Interest **
This session aims to highlight innovations in the domain of intelligent
technologies for the WWW. In particular, we welcome original contributions
pertaining to, but not necessarily limited to, the following topics:
* Soft computing techniques (fuzzy sets, rough sets, neural nets,
genetic algorithms, ...) for knowledge extraction and representation
* Fuzzy and approximate reasoning on the Semantic Web
* Flexible user modeling and weblog analysis
* Hybrid techniques for Web-based recommendation systems
* Intelligent trust and reputation processing
* Web-based decision support
* Social network intelligence
* Intelligent human-web interaction
* Automatic generation of (fuzzy) ontologies
** Paper submission **
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers of up to 8 pages by email
to Chris Cornelis. All submitted papers will be judged on their quality and
relevance. Formatting details for preparing your paper can be found at
http://www.fuzzy.ugent.be/flins2006
Submissions are due December 15, 2005.
